Finding a Job Using the Internet to Your Advantage

A modern job hunting campaign is by nature fairly intricate. While the net has offered a variety of new channels, it also creates increased competition for choice jobs and potential challenges for job hunters.

Job hunting needs to be thought of as a personalized, very aimed marketing operation where you are the product. Your resume is an advertisement. Your extended network is your source for information.

So where does the internet fit in? At AA-Careers, we just posted a job on Craigslist and got hundreds and hundreds applications in a week. For one position. That’s increased competition.

Had a great candidiate gotten ahold of us before we ran the ad, they could have gotten the job before having all that competition. How? By knowing an employee at our company who became aware of the job prior to posting. Everyone was aware of the job for at least 14 days before it was posted. Who in your network might know of a job that’s coming available soon?

Be sure to check your application matierials carefully! When we did an analysis of the 650 resumes, we found a large number of errors. 63% of the applicants were easily removed with a speedy triage process. How? The same way any HR professional would. By passing over resumes where the objective didn’t match our job posting. By passing over candidates whose cover letters gave us causes not to hire them, like "I know I’m overqualified but I really need a job". By eliminating candidates whose documents that didn’t open properly. And by passing over candidates who didn’t bother to spell check their cover letter and/or resume.

So the great news is that job boards give you a sense of who is hiring, and for what kinds of jobs. But once those jobs are posted, the competition is intense. You can still try, if you have a well honed resume, designed to appeal directly and clearly to the recruiter. And if you have practiced interviewing – so you don’t stumble at a critical point.

Another thing to be aware of is how quickly you can be investigated on the net. As we Googled several job hunters, we ran into some personal web pages that were in questionable taste. Nothing crazy, but enough to rock our thoughts about who to employ.

AA-Careers provides a all-inclusive set of services for Bay Area job seekers, providing our clients a personal career consultant, a managed job hunting campaign, modern tools like a personal website, video, highly targeted resume, and much more. Let us know if we can help you.

Be careful out there, and good hunting!

What You Should Know before Buying Bedding - Irresistible

Till some years back duvet bedding used to be made from white cotton cloth. You are surprised at the range of different bedding that are on offer today. Nobody had thought that bedding could be made using such lovely pastel tones and several cloths.

The following are some factors that matter a lot when you buy a bed sheet.

Measure the size of your bed

It is a common myth that one queen bed or king bed has the same dimensions which is so untrue. Also the top measurings, all the rest can be unusual depending on the brand name. So make sure that you calculate all the measurings of your bed from top to bottom, side to side and also the thickness of the mattress you are using. Often similar beds from the same brand are taller or wider than each other. Measuring your bed will give you an idea of the size of your bed sheet before buying.

Decide from where to buy

Large departmental storehouses have a separate department for linen and bedding and offer branded sheets and in-house brands under the same roof. If you want something ethnic like embroidered bed sheets or luxurious ones there might be a shop selling what you want close by. Another alternative is to shop online for the largest diversity. For those who still love their cotton fiber sheets, a discount storehouse is where you should travel to.

Familiarize yourself with thread count in bed sheets

The number of threads that are present in a square inch of the sheet in back and forth direction of its weave is known as thread count. This count is mentioned on the label of the bed sheet itself. More the thread count, more is the richness of the fabric. Beware of a very high thread count as the sheet may have slimmer threads and not the texture you want. A soft bedsheet has a thread count that lies between 175 and 250.

Pick your bed sheet material

Take care to choose a fabric that you can afford and is comfortable too. Though cotton is the most chosen material, some people go for the cotton blends as they do not crease. For a warm cocoon around you, flannel is best in wintertime. For a luxurious look, go for satin, silk or microfiber.

Bedsheet Care

Read the wash and care instructions for the sheets properly before purchasing them. Silk are beautiful and romantic, but they need a weekly dry cleaning job. Do you have the time for all this? Hence choose a bedsheet that you can afford and require less maintenance.

I Hope these six steps lead you to finding a perfect bed sheet for your bed.

feathered, sight-challenged friend flew her way. Nancy felt
needed, she was loved, and her world was set right by her
new funny bird.

John Steven Gurney, a very successful artist and illustrator,
colorfully illustrates the large pages with plenty of things to
look at. Written in playful, light verse the author does
mention things like prayer and “God’s love”, there fore it may
appeal to a religious audience.

The book includes a CD with 2 songs and the orated
version of the story by actress Brittany Murphy (voice of
Luanne on King of the Hill, also known for her parts in
Clueless and Up Town Girls). This could certainly appeal to
the independent child who wants to “read” the book
