Everyone feels comfortable in their own unique way. Sitting in a certain position may be heavenly for one person but torture for another. Wearing a type of fabric could be soft and soothing to one person’s skin, but make another’s itch like crazy. When you’re at home on a lazy Sunday, or you’re home sick from the office, or you’re just having a relaxing night in, there’s nothing better than putting on your favourite comfortable clothes and lying on the couch. While I might prefer to wear mens shorts and an old t-shirt to relax, my best friend would rather put on a pair of leggings and nightgown. Her mohair blanket that she uses on the couch is just makes me too scratchy, but my feather down duvet makes her too sweaty. It’s funny that we can agree on so many other things in life, except for the simple feeling of comfort. Another issue is comfort food. She enjoys pasta with cottage cheese, but the consistency and idea of that food together makes me feel sick. Whereas, I would prefer some crackers with peanut butter and jam, which she finds repulsive. You wouldn’t think we’d be best friends with so many differences between us. But besides our own ideas of comfort, we love the same music, films, and television, and have been friends since we were tiny.
