Living With Obsessive Compulsive Disorder And Your Fearful Thoughts

Living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and having to deal with your fearful thoughts can be extremely difficult. It can be tough for people with OCD to have to experience obsessive thoughts that are intrusive, scary, and difficult to manage. As a result, here is a short list of techniques that a person can use to help manage their OCD and their obsessive thoughts

The first thing a person must do is not to dwell or focus on the fear provoking thought when it comes. The more a person tries to reason out the thought or focus on the fear behind the thought, the stronger the thought becomes. The next time you encounter an obsessive thought, get into the practice of not dwelling on it.

From my interviews with various psychologists, I was told that a person should visualize a red stop sign in their mind when they encounter a fear provoking thought. When the negative thought comes, a person should think of a red stop sign which serves as a reminder to stop focusing on that thought and to think of something else. A person can then try to think of something positive to replace the negative thought.

A person should keep a small notebook of positive statements that makes them feel good. Whenever they come across a positive and uplifting verse that makes them feel good, write it down in a small notebook. A person can then carry this notebook around in their pocket and whenever they feel anxious, they can read their notebook.

Sometimes, a person may encounter a lot of scarey thoughts coming at them all at once. Instead of getting upset, remember that these thoughts are exaggerated and are not based on reality. From my interviews with various professionals, I’ve learned that usually it is the fear behind the thoughts that gets us worked up. Ignore the fear behind these obsessive thoughts, regardless how the strong the fear may be. If you ignore the fear behind these thoughts, then the thoughts become easier to manage.

Another thing to remember is that no one can predict the future with 100 Percent certainty. Even if your fearful thoughts tell you otherwise, the fact is that there are circumstances and factors in every situation that can not be anticipated. We may be ninety-nine percent in predicting the future but all it takes is for that one percent to make the biggest difference.

Although I am a Layman and not a professional, I have interviewed many counselors and I learned that there are many ways to deal with these kinds of thoughts. It is also important to seek professional help if you have OCD. There are ways to deal with your obsessive thoughts and with the proper treatment, people with OCD can live a productive life.

Benefits of Chair Yoga - Part 2

We have all heard the saying, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Those words are extremely profound, when thinking about correcting poor posture and alignment. It takes years to create poor alignment.

Therefore, poor posture cannot be corrected in a single day. A more appropriate saying, when thinking about posture and alignment might be, “The leaning tower of Pisa cannot become straight in a week.”

However, improvements to posture can be made through Chair Yoga exercises and through daily “posture awareness.” In my classes, I refer to posture awareness as “homework.” It usually draws a chuckle from students, but they also know that class time is the time to learn and practice Chair Yoga together.

Time away from the Yoga class is when you put the principles you have learned, in motion, and adapt them into your lifestyle. I cannot promise Chair
Yoga is a “cure all,” but you will see improvements in every aspect of your life. However, practicing your homework separates the fantastic success stories from those who see some modest improvement.

So, what is posture awareness? This is taking the time to be aware of your posture, on a daily basis. The first thing you want to do in order to open your awareness is look at your side profile in a mirror and any photographs of yourself. At this point, look at your spine from top to bottom.

Do you see slumping, forward tilting of the neck, or extra large curves? Your spine should be aligned so that it is fairly straight at all times. During a number of daily activities such as: Standing, walking, reading, eating, sitting, lying, typing, and more, you should make a conscious effort, to keep your head and back straight.

Now, we can all remember a schoolteacher who preached, “Keep your back straight,” but now we know that he or she was absolutely correct. Take the time to adjust your spinal alignment, from this moment on, and every time you can remember to do so.

If possible, you should also attend any workshops about Chiropractic and
Orthopedic medicine. Educate yourself about your body, your spine, and your choices. You can usually find these workshops and many more valuable meetings at your local senior center. These workshops are usually free, you are under no obligation, and it makes for a good “Fact finding mission.”

The alignment and posture principles, you learn in a Chair Yoga class, can be as simple as, “Pain or no pain.”

Tips For Managing Workplace Stress

One of the best ways of preventing or managing workplace stress is work planning. A planning tool is a good investment for improving yourself in most areas of life, your job included. You have to understand that there is nothing like a very routine work that doesn’t require any planning. The belief that it will go on by itself is wrong. Even tasks that can be done on an everyday basis can be improved if there is good planning involved. Everywhere there is scope for improvement, better methods that are yet to be implemented and problems that have to be solved. And for all this you need proper planning. Let’s take a look at the different steps involved in planning for a week. The best way to plan the work for a week is to maintain a planning sheet. Now, please remember that this is apart from the routine work that is done in the office.

The following steps will help you to make a planning sheet.

  • Take a fairly big sheet of paper and divide it into the number of working days in your office.
  • The column for each day should further be divided in to the morning and afternoon sessions.
  • Divide the job to be done and assign each part to a concerned person.
  • Decide on which part of the task is to be done on each day and at which part of the day.
  • Put a cross mark followed by the concerned person’s initials on that section of the day on which you propose to do the decided part of the job.
  • At the end of the day, if the job is done put a circle round the cross.
  • If the job is not done, carry over the cross and add it to the next day’s cross.

In this way, at the end of the week, you can find out how much of the work was done each day and subsequent plans can be made for the following weeks. In this way you can plan for a week or a month, depending on your requirement.

While you are drafting your plan and estimating your expenses, you must never forget the fact that time means money. But your plan should be realistic as well. In order to finish the task at the earliest possible date, there is no sense in chalking out a schedule which would mean that you will have to break your back in order to meet the deadline. And that’s about planning.

You can get more free planning resources by doing a search online.

Get Discounted Musical Tickets on the Web

London weekend breaks always seem like such a fabulous plan - to leave behind habits & habitats, experiencing something new; perhaps listen to something unique. Nevertheless, without a plan, weekends away can every now and then fall somewhat short, a case of strolling around an enormous town, regularly popping into retail outlets & indentifying sculptures. This may be okay if you are contented to go with the flow, although if you like being occupied and ‘doing’ something then theatre show breaks can be a great option.

While you can regularly fly to America, why would you? As there is a great deal of talent & entertainment much closer to you in London. Notably, the Capital hosts a mixture of unbelievable theatres, most of which are grouped together somewhere within London’s West End - a place in which life seems to become a little better and everything turns out okay eventually; or at least if not, you can get trapped in poignant moments and feel a little bit of a better person.

Although for comfortable, cheerful entertainment during a London theatre show break as a rule most people look at musicals. These can be anything from the heart-wrenching disaster of Les Misérables to the rollerblading excitement that is undoubtedly Starlight Express. Nevertheless supporters of rock and roll, doo-wap & boys & women in extremely tight black leather will only be fascinated about one theatre show - Grease. Taking the universe by storm in the nineteen seventies, this electrifying musical show has never ceased to amaze audiences, transferring with consummate style to the big screen. Including a fine-looking John Travolta and a dreadfully skinny Olivia Newton-John, the movie went on to be selected for an Oscar. If you enjoy London’s West End, then find cheap London theatre tickets.

A lot of people will have a big space in their heart reserved for Grease, no matter how old you are, or even what gender. Its one of those enjoyable films that is enjoyed by many age groups; equally the musical show is absorbing for young and old equally. The ease and energy of Rydell High is contagious, the late 1950s outfits are desirably retro, and the songs are so contagious that you’ll be singing in your seats.

Death changes perspective of living

We live and we die. But while living, most of us don’t keep the thought of death in mind. A person suffering from an incurable disease may keep it in his/her mind, but not a normal person suffering from ordinary ailments. For a very big population on the earth, life is perpetual. That is how they think and live. Is this a right attitude? To a certain extent this is a right attitude and at times, wrong. Let us analyze further.

We not only live our life thinking that we will not die, but we also behave with others as if they will also not die. Let me give you an example. Let us talk about a friend. He/she does something or speaks something. We are deeply hurt. We feel bad, and we begin blaming the other person for many things. We don’t think of forgiving and carrying on. Why? Suppose that friend of ours meets his/her death after a week. What will be our reaction? We will go in a remorseful mood and blame ourselves. The bad feelings that we had for that person loses all the meaning. That person is no more and no critical analysis or one-upmanship will help now. The situation has changed totally.

Accidents occur everyday. Anyone of us may die at any moment. No one knows about the time of his/her death. We all believe that we will live to a ripe old age and will die only after that. Sometimes, we don’t even think of that. How about changing our perspective? How about keeping the thought in our mind at all times that - the person I am hating so much now, or I am arguing with so much now, may even die after an hour by meeting with some freak accident. This may change our perspective about all our relationships. Is this not true? It will change our thoughts about ourselves also. We will all begin thinking more of today and worry less about tomorrow.

Life is precious. Every life is very precious. Every heart is precious. Why hurt anyone including your ownself? Forgive everyone. Begin with yourself. Let death change our perspective.

Cycling Ahead of Skiing Improves Performance and Stops Injuries

Yearly with the first ski weekends it is the same account. Despite running to work, and an infrequent long walk, every winter season commences with those painful first few hikes during which I am left behind in the paths of younger and healthier ski buddies.

Being in bad shape when touring it’s difficult, and may be very severe. To ski down one needs spare capacity. A tired skier is more than likely to suffer accidents and weariness could be a contributory factor to accidents, such as crashes and avalanches.

Surely there’s a easier way to start the season, and a newly published 305 page account by Nancy Cook, who also looks to provide a resolution. Whilst targeted at climbers the information is for the most part practical to ski touring, with its strenuous scrambles in addition to other hobbies.

Cycling, training for peak results is highly researched and a good read. It’s a acceptable well rounded guide which assembles a lot of detail. One can develop a specialised training program or improve your present regime. Granted that it is calculated for climbers, and so some of the techniques maybe extraneous for skiing, it’s definitely an account to buy if you wish to do several of the long 24 hour or multi day routes.

The End of Psychotherapy

In two articles entitled “We Are Not Our Personalities” and “Eliminating The Past” I make the point that it is now possible to “dismantle” all the life experience that is stored in the human bio-field, i.e. in our consciousness , with all its ensuing consequences.

Here I would like to highlight a point that perhaps I have not yet stressed. That is, what impact will this have on the livelihood of the many “psychotherapies” that currently exist and whose task it is: to “reorganize”, “fix” , “restructure”, “repair”, “work through”, or “understand” one’s past and the influence it has had on the organization of one’s personality?

Well, let’s look at this. If one is able to eliminate one’s past quickly, effectively and easily then this will cause a rapid “dismantling” of what one “thinks of” as one’s personality. What appears to emerge (see “A Short Journey to The Dive Self” and “The Divine Holographic Energy Field”) for someone who is undertaking such a journey is an experience of their True and Divine Self.

This is often an experience of one’s self that has associated such feelings as: lightness, great emotional and physical resilience, self confidence, self esteem, self worth, self mastery, compassion towards self and others, a great sense of inner knowing, intuitive and creative abilities, great inner peace and much more. All without the intrusion of negative thoughts, emotions and behaviors.

This is what individuals who originally seek out psychotherapies are looking for when they do so.

Now all of the “negative” items I’ve listed above are “embedded” in the personality and in the bio-field in the first place, and psychotherapies focus on working “with” these items. So if, using a new tool, which I have described, called the Mind Resonance Process(TM), these items can be eliminated forthwith then the need to go on “working on them” will no longer exist.

In other words, all psychotherapies will no longer have any functional use!

If you would like to know more or possibly have an experience of what this means you may wish to visit the web site below in my bio.

Finding A Site You Like

When it comes to lounging around the Internet, you might find that your long hours could be better spent looking for a swinging good time.

No longer do you have to meet up in person to find other swingers and have that awkward conversation of do you or don’t you, but you can put in some information, sometimes for free, and find other people who are looking to swing.

It’s just so darn easy.

So Many Possibilities

The hardest thing about finding swingers online is when you type in ’swinging online’ and find that there are hundreds of thousands of place to look at. And there are dating services designed to hook up any arrangement of swingers.

Maybe you’re a heterosexual couple looking for another couple. Maybe you’re a lesbian couple looking for a couple or a single man. Or maybe it’s the other way around.

If there’s a combination that can be dreamed of, there’s a service to get you all together.

And if you’re into any fetish in particular, then you can find that too.

How Do You Choose?

I went with the close-your-eyes-and-point approach at first, but that didn’t work out too well.

So let’s talk about the finer points of an online dating site.

This might sound a bit superficial, but listen to the reasoning first. I pick out sites based on the quality of the pictures on it. Not that I like to just look at pictures (well, I do), but I can tell how serious the site is when their members take the time to send good pics.

I’ve also found that the sites that take the time to explain how every works are great too.

If they have someone to answer your questions either via phone or email, then you know that they really want you to be successful. And a company that wants you to be successful is always a good sign.

Granted, you will be paying for such help, but it will be worth it. They know what they’re talking about.

Should You Pay To Date Online?

This really isn’t a question anymore because you don’t have the choice in most cases. If you want to talk with other couples, then you will have to pay up.

If you’re okay with just looking at pictures, then you can do that without paying each month.

When you pay, you get to e-mail, have real time chats, and even video chats (which can be super hot when you’re a long distance from each other or are just starting out).

Most of the sites have monthly fees that aren’t too terrible. And they also have a trial period in most cases, so you can get the hang of it without forking over too much money.

My advice? Take advantage of the trial period on a site, and if you like it, sign up. If you don’t, make sure to cancel your membership and move onto the next.

Even if you don’t find a great couple, you will be able to access all of the pictures and advice articles.

Router - Transmitting Packets

In a previous article we discussed the basics of what a router did. We’re now going to get into a more detailed, and yes technical, explanation of how packets are transmitted as well as a few other tech specs of how routers work. So put on your learning caps because you’re in for a real mind bender.

Internet data, whether it be in the form of a web page, a downloaded file or an email message, travels over what is called a packet switching network. Basically what happens is that the data is broken up into individual packets because there is only so much data that can be transmitted at one time. Each packet is about 1500 bytes long. Each packet contains quite a bit of information including the sender’s address, the receiver’s address and of course the information being sent which includes the order of each packet how it should be put back together so that the end user can make sense of the data. The packet is sent off to its destination based on what the router believes to be the best route to follow, which is usually the route with the least amount of traffic and if possible, the shortest route. Each packet may actually given a different route depending on conditions at the time, which in a high traffic network can change every second. By doing this, the router can balance the load across the network so that no one segment gets overloaded. Also, if there is a problem with one piece of equipment in the network, the router can bypass this piece of equipment and send the packet along another route. This way if there is a problem, the entire message will still arrive intact.

In conducting this process, routers have to speak to each other. They tell each other about any problems on the network and make recommendations on routes to take. This way, paths can be reconfigured if they have to be. However, not all routers do all jobs as routers come in different sizes and have different functions.

There are what we call simple routers. A simple router is usually used in a simple small network. Simple routers simply look to see where the data packet needs to go and sends it there. It doesn’t do much else.

Slightly larger routers, which are used for slightly larger networks, do a little bit more. These routers will also enforce security for the network, protecting the network from outside attacks. They are able to do a good enough job of this that additional security software is not needed.

The largest routers are used to handle data at major points on the Internet. These routers handle millions of packets of information per second. They work very hard to configure the network as efficiently as possible. These are stand alone systems and actually have more in common with supercomputers than with a simple server one might have in a small office.

In our next instalment we’ll look at how to actually trace the path that a message has taken and some examples of transmitting packets.

College Years: how to make them unforgettable

Now that high school is over and you have freedom to choose among different careers, probably for the first time in your life you are to make the most serious choice you’ve ever faced. You go back and revise your childish dreams in your memory and try to find out where your heart truly lies. And when you do, the most exciting years of your life begin and you become a college student. College is no place to play games and fool around. You are now to think about your future and what’s to become of you. First year students or just freshmen come to their first class with serious facial expressions, already thinking about a day when they get out into the open on their own, with serious educational background and some lessons of life they’ve had during their studies. But on the other hand college is perfect environment to have fun and socialize. The atmosphere gives excellent opportunities to make new useful and interesting acquaintances and have fun doing various sports, cultural and social events. The more time you dedicate to university life the more popular you become among college elite.

Sophomore year is not less interesting than the freshmen year. Once you’ve got used to the ways in the university, know the procedure, have friends and hobbies and know how to have fun you feel perfectly well and ready to continue to do fun things you did before. Some of the fellows seem to forget about studies, but the system is serious and stable. In the dictionary of the dean there are no words “sorry” or “just a few more days”. The result comes real quick and in a day you are kicked out with unsatisfactory progress and a stamp of a looser for the rest of your days. Junior year is as much fun as it is serious. Being old and mature enough, we realize which direction to work in, to achieve everything that you’ve planned. Serious relations may start and distract your attention but studies are the only thing you’re focused on. Your college term paper fly to you in your dreams and when you hear sarcastic “unsatisfactory” you wake up all nervous and have insomnia till the rest of the week. How unwise. If you work hard enough, you’ll be duly awarded at the end of your studies. Senior year is the best one, time that you will never forget. This is time to relax for those who were wise enough to keep up with studies and time to focus for those who lost their heads among various chances to spend their time otherwise. Most probably they will turn to college term papers to fill in the gaps of their studies.

But when the last efforts are made and all the exams are left behind, you feel relief and burning desire to get started to whatever you were prepared for. And after it is all over and look behind your shoulder you ask yourself: is it gone, or has it just begun? Nothing can be changed in the past but there is a nice chance to start your life again, from the blank page to write a good history about a man/woman, who reached success and achieved acclaim.
